Janis Desmond

Janis’ first exposure to yoga was at 14 with Lillias Folan on PBS. After experimenting with many styles of yoga she found herself drawn to the practice of Svaroopa Yoga. She started Yoga Teacher Training in 1999 with Rama Berch (now Swami Nirmalananda Saraswati) who was the director of yoga classes at the Chopra Center in La Jolla for 5 years and the first President of the Yoga Alliance. Janis completed her initial teacher training in 2004 and she continues to study with Swami Nirmalananda. A registered yoga teacher & certified Svaroopa Yoga teacher & member of the IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapist) incorporating Ayurveda, philosophy and anatomy. Her goal is do inspire students to incorporate a home practice and allow the yoga to spill into their life more and more. 503 282 9633 or
